Gary joined Crosslink in 2002 to focus on investments in the Communication Services & Infrastructure Sector.
Experience:
Over the past 10 years Gary has led investments in both public and private companies, ranging from seed level investments to recapitalizations of public companies. The scope of his investment activity has included communications infrastructure and services, managed services and component and systems companies that support next generation services. Investments have included Equinix, the leading independent colocation provider (Nasdaq: EQIX); Yipes, a metro Ethernet services provider, acquired in 2009 by Reliance Communications; OpSource, a managed hosting company, acquired in 2010 by NTT; Carbonite, the leading independent provider of backup and restore services to consumers and small businesses (Nasdaq: CARB); VitalStream, a CDN provider acquired in 2007 by InterNap; Good Technologies, a messaging services provider acquired in 2009 by Motorola; Stratalight, a provider of 40 Gig and 100 Gig optical transceivers, acquired in 2008 by OpNext; SeaMicro, a low power computer server company acquired in 2012 by AMD; Tabula, a provider of programmable logic semiconductors; and Xsigo Systems, a provider of virtualized I/O for compute and storage systems in data centers.
Prior to joining Crosslink Gary managed his own investment practice, which included investments in Packeteer, acquired by BlueCoat Systems, NetCode, a provider of Java coding tools, acquired by NetScape, and Medior, a content developer acquired by America Online. Prior to that he was a partner with Merrill, Pickard, Anderson & Eyre and a partner at Robertson, Stephens & Co. He began his investment career in public market investing at Dodge & Cox.
